Three Little Pigs

Friday 09 Mar 2018

We have had a fantastic week.

In Maths we have continued to look at the relationship between addition and subtraction. They have been using Bar models to create related number sentences and to complete empty box calculations. They have done really well and applied their understanding of addition and subtraction.

In Literacy we have started our unit on The Three Little Pigs. The children have amazed us by how quickly they have picked up the story and can confidently re-tell it with actions. On Wednesday they worked in groups to act out their own version of the story and performed it to the rest of the class. They have finished of this week by creating a story map for their own version of the story. They have changed the main characters and the materials that the houses are built from. There have been some fantastic choices, including rats, cats, unicorns and foxes with houses made from cheese, ice, sweets and sparkling rainbows.

Take a look at some of this week’s learning.

Thank you to all the parents that attended parents evening this week it was lovely to talk to you about your child’s learning and we look forward to meeting some of your next week.

Have a lovely weekend
