The mamas and the papas

Yesterday saw many mums, dads and other carers come into school to share in their child's learning.

In Year 5, we were creating a new gadget to help us explore the world.  Take a look at some of the ideas that the children came up with.

We're all in this together!

This morning, the children designed their own learning droids for a competition to find the best class droid.!  Tomorrow, the winner will be revealed and its name announced.  Stay tuned to find out which droid wins!  May the force be with you.

In the afternoon, upper Key Phase 2 (Years 5&6) had a session of team building games, led by Mr Yates.  The two year groups worked brilliantly together and it was clear to see from the looks on their faces, how much children benefit from working together.  From September, we are looking forward to working more closely as a key phase, pooling our talents and sharing our success.

Transition Week

What a week it's been (and it's only Tuesday!)

I've met my new class this week and I just wanted to say what a pleasure it has been.  After a long and tiring Summer term, we've managed to reignite one another and express our love of learning.  Over the last two days we've worked in teams to examine how we will approach our year together.  So far, we've looked at:

Who is Mr Stones?

Who are you and who do you want to be?

What makes a good learner?

Tomorrow, we're going to look at WHAT MAKES A GOOD TEACHER? (gulp!)

We even had Mrs Siggs pop in with her gorgeous little daughter Katie, who will soon be celebrating her 1st birthday.  This took the spotlight away from Mr Stones (for a change!)
