Sporting Success

Our Year 6 sports teams have had a fantastic week. Firstly, the sports hall athletics team took part in the Sheffield city final - the first time Bradway have ever made it that far. They managed to come 5th on the day and, as the competition started with more than 50 schools, they should all be incredibly proud! There were some particularly strong performances including a victory for Amy in the hurdles and 2nd place for the mixed relay team.

The same day, the girls' football team took part in the South Yorkshire final and managed to win! Some girls had even taken part in the athletics in the morning as well! They will now progress to an area final against teams from places as far away as Liverpool. Mr Cooper and Mr Perkins were incredibly impressed with the positive attitude everyone showed, despite the awful (and very cold) weather. We look forward to the next round and seeing how far they can go.

We are now in the process of selecting a team for the upcoming handball competition. Last year we managed to come 2nd in Sheffield, so hopefully we can go one better!

Have a good weekend everyone.
