An update for the week

Thursday 28 Jan 2016

It has certainly been action packed so far this week!

We began on Monday by editing our non-Chronological reports using the feedback given by the teachers and had the session to complete our edited versions.

We have also undertaken a mock Reading SATs paper and on Wednesday began our new narrative and speech unit based on The 3 Little Pigs: we recapped the key parts of the story and discussed how the audience may affect the some of the details which would be included.

Today we began to create an audio trailer for The 3 Little Pigs movie which we will record on Friday.

In maths, Mr Yates's groups have undertaken work on 2D and 3D shapes, including making and drawing nets and sorting shapes according to their properties.
Miss Svoboda's group have developed their conversion skills (for example, litres --> pints) and have today solved problems linked to time.

Art was great - The children had their first experience of using wire mesh (chicken wire) which we will be using to create marine creatures as part of our 'Coast' topic. We developed the skills to cut wire safely and join the different pieces together.

In Science on Thursday, we took our learning outdoors and undertook and invertebrate(creature without a backbone) hunt. We used the data and evidence we gathered to label specific parts of our favourate invertebrate.
