Thursday - Mix-up day!

Friday 06 Nov 2015

Today we had a great opportunity to work as a 'mixed-up' year group as over 20 pupils took part in our Young Leader Training.

The rest of the children worked in Mr Yates class for the day. In maths, we worked with a partner from a different maths group to solve different multiplication problems. This was brilliant for children who find their tables tricky, as they had a buddy on hand to support them. It also encouraged our more confident mathematicians to share and explain clearly how they solved different maths problems.

In literacy, we had an extra-terrestrial activity to complete. We had to devise a message to send to the Voyager Space Probe which will soon become out of reach of human contact and continue its journey into outer space alone... We hope one day our messages will be picked up by a being from another galaxy and will help explain to them how life on Earth currently is.

Click the link below to find out more about this exciting opportunity and also to perhaps share a message with NASA with your children at home.
