Y6 December update

Monday 05 Dec 2016

Hello all! It has been a couple of weeks (sorry) since our last Y6 blog update and it really has been an incredibly busy time!

In those 2 weeks the children have produced some wonderful examples of journalistic writing linked to Macbeth and the cruel murder of King Duncan. The final, edited copies will be created later on this week and we will publish some on the blog to show you what they look like!

In maths there has been a focus on fractions in Mr Yates class where we have covered how to add, subtract, take-away and divide using fractions. Miss Svoboda's class have covered a unit on ratio and proportion and using the bar modelling method to solve word problems.

We have continued our work on light in science and have looked at what determiners are and where they can be found in sentences during our SPaG sessions.

There should also be a huge congratulations sent out to our Sports Hall Athletics Team who finished 3rd overall in the area finals. Well done guys! :)

On top of all this hard work in class, we have also had the auditions and rehearsals in preparation for the Christmas performance and from what we have seen so far, it's going to be great!
