Notifying school if your child tested positive for Covid 19
As you know, we have had our first confirmed cases of Covid-19 over these last few weeks, each with their own unique circumstances. We wanted to reassure you that every time we are informed of a positive case, we follow set protocols that are provided by Public Health, including direct communication with the Local Authority.
Sometimes, cases are reported late at night, over the weekend or in the school holidays. During these times it is more difficult for us to disseminate information before messages spread on social media. To ensure we manage cases effectively and have a consistent communication method, we would politely ask that you follow the steps below.
A confirmed positive test result
During school hours 8:30-4:30pm - contact the school directly by calling 01142363723 or emailing email@example.com
Outside of school hours - contact a member of the leadership team directly by calling or texting 07754899726 or alternatively emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Please inform us of:
Your name and the name of your child
The name of your child’s class teacher
The date of symptoms
The date of the Covid-19 test
The date of the positive result
Contacting school directly will allow us to follow the correct health and safety protocols as well as ensuring a consistent and accurate message is provided to our families. (If your child attends After School Club in the Scout Hall, you will also need to contact the team leader, Paula Ward, directly).
Please do not share information about positive cases on social media. Despite best intentions, we have found that this causes distress and anxiety for families and is often counterproductive.
We have our school community’s best interests at the heart of all of our decisions and your continued cooperation, understanding and support is helpful in maintaining a calm and productive experience for your child.
