Sunflowers and lots of time
Friday 05 May 2017
This week in Maths we have been looking at time. We have been singing songs for the days of the week and learnt a rhyme to help us remember the months of the year. We have worked hard in our independent learning to put the days and months into the correct order. On Thursday we started to use clocks. We discussed and shared our understanding about time with each other and used our clocks to show o’clock. We learnt how to position the hands on our clocks to show o’clock, with the big hand pointing to the top and the small hand pointing to the hours.
In Literacy we have continued our non-fiction learning on sunflowers. We have made booklets on how to plant a seed and have started the first page in our Sunflower Diaries. After reading a big book on sunflowers we became sunflower specialists and wrote as many facts as we could about sunflowers.
Our classes are looking very bright with all our wonderful sunflower art. We have used collage, oil pastels, watercolours and ICT to create our designs. Please feel free to pop in and visit our gallery, admission is free.
