Friday 10th June
Friday 10 Jun 2016
Welcome back, we hope you all had a lovely holiday. The children have been hard at work this week consolidating this year's maths work with some quizzes and writing Limericks in Literacy. Why not ask your child if they can remember theirs, or research some new ones at home.
Next week and the following week are 'Active Travel' weeks, where children are encouraged to travel more actively to school. Children will be awarded a sticker on their chart for each day they travel actively to school. If they do so everyday, they will receive a badge at the end of the scheme. We understand that some of you live further away and walking, scooting or cycling is difficult. However, if you park and stride (e.g. from the shops or The Old Mother Redcap) your child will receive a sticker.
For those children who did not pass their phonics screening test in Y1, the follow up phonics screening test will take place next week. The children are used to tests of this nature as they have done many sample ones. This really is nothing to worry about. The children will not be made aware that they are being tested.
If you have not yet returned your slips for the Yorkshire Wildlife Park trip and the Y2 Camp, please do so ASAP.
We all had an amazing time this afternoon at our 'Fun Sports Event' and we were very lucky with the weather!
We hope you stay dry this weekend!
