Friday 11th December
Friday 11 Dec 2015
Thank you to all parents and carers who sent in costumes for our dress rehearsal this morning. It was a great success and the Infants WOWED the Juniors with their first proper performance of 'A Christmas with Aliens'. They pulled out all the stops for their beautifully behaved audience! They are now thoroughly looking forward to performing to all the parents and carers in next week's performances on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
Whilst on the subject of performing, we had a lovely treat from the Y2 recorder players this week. They gave us a taste of the wonderful music they have been learning in their weekly lessons! Well done to all of you! It was amazing to hear all the things you have learned in such a short space of time!
Next Wednesday afternoon is our Infant Christmas Party! A slip should have or should be making its way home to you tonight asking for donations of food. If your child misplaces his/her slip please feel free to call in and speak to your child's class teacher. The children can come to school wearing party clothes. (Changing at lunchtime often leads to vast amounts of lost property!) Please ensure clothes are warm enough to play out in. The children will be playing party games during the afternoon and we are hoping for a very special visitor to join in the fun and festive frolics!
We were unable to have our spelling test this morning due to our dress rehearsal. We would like the children to keep their current spellings for a test on the first Friday back after the holidays. It would be really useful if they could recap all the sounds and spelling patterns taught so far this year.
One extremely creative young chef in Y2 spent all of last Sunday making an amazing gingerbread house! He very kindly brought it in to school on Monday and it has taken 58 children and several members of staff a whole week to polish it off! Thank you very very much! Here he is with his wonderful creation!
