Friday 17th March

Friday 17 Mar 2017

It was lovely seeing so many of you this week at our parents' evenings.  We hope you enjoyed sharing all the work your child has been doing over the last few months.  The children have been working hard this week on the subject of time.  This is a concept which many children find difficult and really benefit from hands on practise/experiences in their everyday lives.  We have set four pieces of homework on Education City (sequenced in order of difficulty) but are not expecting the children to complete all of them.  If your child would like to write a 'time diary/story' this weekend, we would love to look at them next week.  For example 'I went swimming at three O'clock and I stayed in the pool for one and a half hours.  I got out of the pool at half past four.  It took me half an hour to get showered and dressed and therefore I was in the café at five O'clock etc.'

In Literacy we have been writing instructions and will finish this unit of work next week.  We have also started our new topic on famous people and hope you have enjoyed hearing all about Harriet Tubman.

A reminder that school is closed to children on Monday 20th March due to staff training.  Next Friday, the 24th, is Comic Relief and children are encouraged to come in red or non-uniform, with a donation of £1.

We hope you have a lovely weekend, despite the weather!
