This week seems to have flown by as we have been extremely busy, once again, in Year Two!  The children have thoroughly enjoyed helping 'John Patrick Norman McHennessy' think of excuses for being late to school.  Examples included: a crocodile coming out of a drain and biting his satchel, being chased by a lion and being stranded by a tidal wave.  Let's hope no-one encounters any of these problems on the way to school on Monday morning!
In Numeracy we have been learning that multiplication is repeated addition.  We have used practical resources to help us with this.  You could ask your child to make groups of (lots of) objects and count them.  We have mainly concentrated on counting 'lots of' 2s, 5s and 10s however some children experimented with 3s, 4s and 6s.

We have started our new History topic all about 'The Great Fire of London'.  The children seem very keen to learn all about it especially as it followed our fire safety talk last week.

Have a lovely weekend.
