Friday 2nd October

Today your child should have come home with their new spellings in their little green books.  Correctly spelt words from this week's test have been highlighted in pink.  If any words have been left unmarked, your child needs to continue practising these at home.Please ensure that your child has their green spelling book in school every Friday, so that new spelling lists can be stuck in and words highlighted for your information.

In Literacy we have been looking at WABOLLs and WAGOLLs.  Why not ask your child what these are!  Money has been the theme in Numeracy.  Today we pretended we were at the shops and children had to choose items and work out the change needed.  Any practical experience of using money out in the real world would be extremely beneficial. Next week we will continue working with money and start working on time!  This is a abstract concept which many children find difficult, therefore discussing times and routines with your child would help to prepare them.

 

If you have not yet returned the slip regarding the flu vaccination (nose spray) on Tuesday 13th October, please do so as soon as possible.     

On Thursday we will be having a cross phase morning to discuss what values are important to us and our school.  Y2 and Y5 will be working together to share our ideas. 

'Meet a Creature' has been arranged for all the children in Year 2 on Thursday 12th November. More information will be sent to you in due course.
