Bradway Primary School

Happy holidays to you all!

Thursday 26 May 2016

It has certainly been a long half term and your children have worked their socks off. They are ready for and deserve a very restful, relaxing and fun half term after putting a huge amount of effort into their recent 'quizzes' ;-)
We haven't sent home any separate spellings this week or any homework but if you were wanting to consolidate any prior learning then over learning the common exception words would be great. The children are fantastic at spelling most of these but then fail to spell them correctly in their written work. Continued over learning would help with this. Similarly, any support you could give this week with encouraging your child to tell the time would be gratefully appreciated. Children working at the expected standard in year 2 need to be able to recognise quarter past, half past, quarter to and o'clock and those at greater depth need to be able to tell the time to the nearest five minutes.
Hopefully, your children will have come home with two letters this week. One outlining the joint Y2/3 trip the the Yorkshire Wildlife Park and the second  giving details of the Year 2 camp on Friday 8th July.
We have had a great half term and cannot believe we are going to be entering our last half term with the Year 2s before they move up to the juniors ? It is an exciting half term with lots of community events, enterprise week, transition, not to mention the exciting trips and camp night.
We wish you all a lovely bank holiday weekend and half term break and look forward to seeing you all back in school on Monday 6th June.
Have a fun filled holiday and thank you for your continued support.
