An Eggstraspecial Week
Friday 18 Mar 2016
We have had an absolutely amazing week in Y4. We couldn't have packed in more if we'd tried. We spent the start of the week baking in the kitchen and World War 2 Bake Off proved as exciting as the BBC version. The only thing missing was Mary Berry although Mr Stockley made a great Paul Hollywood. The quality of the finished bakes was outstanding and the children worked so well together in teams.
On Thursday we brought our World War 2 topic to a close with VE Day and once again the costumes came out and the willingness to join in the 'Best of British' spirit was great to see. Children wrote messages of peace on Union Jacks and played traditional games just as their 1940's ancestors would have done. In the afternoon we put on our dancing shoes and danced our socks off for parents and carers in the hall. This time Mr Stockley was in role as Wing Commander Stockley.
All in all a fantastic term. We shall be sad to say goodbye to World War 2 but are looking forward to next term's topic on Sheffield. Please talk to your child about Sheffield and its history. In particular, we want children to think about what makes Sheffield great and what is Sheffield famous for.
Don't forget we shall be holding a parents' meeting about Thornbridge on Tuesday 12th April straight after school in Y4H and look forward to seeing you there.
Have a great Easter everyone.
