Gas Masks at the Ready!!

Friday 19 Feb 2016

What great start to the new half term! All the children have come back refreshed and ready to learn.
WW2 is still our topic for this half term and the children are still thoroughly enjoying it. This week, in literacy, they have created their own propaganda posters. WOW they look great!

We have lots to get through including writing their own instructions for using a gas mask as well as writing their own recipes from WW2 rationed ingredients. Can't wait for the Bake Off!!! Yum!
In maths this week we have moved on to multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000. The children have been using their knowledge of decimals to help. They are doing a great job!

The children have been making their own gas masks in Art and have done a great job. The task involved lots of cutting and the children worked very patiently and did a fantastic job. Next week they are going to have to write the instructions as to how they made the gas mask. Hopefully they will remember!!!

Don't forget our trip to Eden Camp is on 1st March. Remember to wrap up warm as it is cold and a lot of the camp is outdoors. We should be back at school around 4:30.
Letters have gone out about the children's ability to ride a bike. Children who come on our residential to Thornbridge will be going on a bike ride and we need to gauge how many can ride efficiently and independently. If we can have these back as soon as possible please.

Have a lovely weekend!! Thanks for all your hard work this week!!

The year 4 team.
