In Their Shoes

Thursday 06 Oct 2016

It's been another varied week.  Our maths lessons have seen us working on negative numbers, including looking at the difference between two temperatures  and the effect of adding a negative number.  We then moved on to rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 etc and rounding to the nearest pound.

In English, we have been looking at character descriptions.  This has involved putting ourselves in the shoes of the characters; thinking of questions to find out more information; drama activities; identifying what makes a good character description and today's lesson has been about showing how a character is feeling rather than just telling the reader.

The children have also made Orreries (a planet mobile made to scale) in science, which you can see hanging up in the classrooms.
We were lucky enough to have a visit from a theatre group who performed Tom's Midnight Garden. The children really enjoyed it and a great afternoon was had by all!!

Don't forget we have our space trip on Wednesday. No glass bottles please.

Have a lovely weekend.
