Handball

On Monday, a small group of Year 6 children took part in a handball competition at Handsworth Grange School. They competed in a mini tournament against 5 other schools from Sheffield. Even though it was the first time many had taken part in a proper handball match, they managed to win 3 out of the 4 games they played, scoring lots of goals in the process. The one team who beat them then went on to win the whole tournament. Mr Cooper and Miss Svoboda were incredibly proud of how the team performed, as they showed great team spirit and were incredibly determined. Hopefully they will continue playing handball when they go on to secondary school.
Unfortunately, the netball competition that was going to take place this week has been moved to May but on the plus side, it gives us plenty of time to get a team together and lots of time to practise our skills.
There will also be orinteering and athletics competitions later in the school year.
