Parents' SATs Meeting Update
Friday 04 Mar 2016
First of all, could we just say a huge thank you to all the parents who came to the SATs meeting last night, It was an excellent turn out,
I'm sure you would agree that the children face a challenging week in May but with their continued hard work and with the support you provide at home we can make the SATs tests they take as stress-free and 'enjoyable' as possible. It is really important for them to remember that it is an opportunity to show off what they can do and is reflective of teaching they have received and what they have learnt during their time at Bradway.
Below is the video we showed at the meeting which explains the different papers the children will undertake in more detail. It may well be worth watching this with your child so they have a good idea of how the week will work.
Below is the link to previous SATs papers and the sample materials we have been sent with which to better prepare the children for this year's tests.
If you do look at any of the questions with your children please do not use them as a 'test'. we feel little and often, in an unstressed environment works best.
Also, could you please NOT use the 2015 materials and they will be used in school after Easter as part of our Mock Week.

If you are interested in buying a revision pack for your child we recommend using the CGP or Collins books. There are many different websites and bookshops which stock these packs.
Please ensure you search for the New Curriculum Key Stage 2 Revision booklets or Key Stage 2 2016 test revision.
Finally, here is the link to the website which explains the increased level of terminology the children should be familiar with to complete the new SPaG test.
This is a useful revision tool (for teachers as well!) but we do feel it shows the increased level of difficulty the new tests provide in terms of knowing and understanding the SPaG vocabulary.

Many thanks for your ongoing support,
